1. My Mom Quotient:

I am an unconventional girl, so by default I am an unconventional mom. I push my kids to question rules and norms, and not to adhere blindly. I also place a large emphasis on truth and authenticity over simply going through the motions of life. I urge my kids to dream big and love big, and to develop a love for music and books, two companions that will never desert them.

What I love best about being a mom is having the opportunity to expose these little people to the wonders of the world and to watch them absorb and react. I want to leave behind something bigger and better than just my legacy in this world.

2. My Mom Inc Story:

Momaboard was born out of a need for accessible and reliable international travel information for parents. I started the site after the birth of my first child while I was living in Australia. My husband and I both loved to travel and we wanted to continue to explore the world with the little bub in tow, but I found it was hard to find simple information such as “where can I buy diapers in Japan?” or “kid-friendly inns in New Zealand.” So I started writing it, and today, Momaboard covers over 50 countries in the world, and has a social following of 15,000 followers over Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest (We’re also gaining traction on Instagram and Periscope).

On September 22, 2015, Momaboard launched the first-of-its-kind trip planning service, connecting traveling families with handpicked local moms (“Mombassadors”), through customized itineraries. We wanted to make international travel for parents easy and stress-free: Fill out a form on our site telling us about your family’s interests, goals, budget, dates and destination choice, our Mombassador will build a custom trip for you complete with hotel, restaurant, activity, playground and even emergency contacts. We currently offer this service in 30 cities around the world and are adding more every day. I could not be more proud of what we’ve built.

3. Who inspired/supported me?

As moms, we are so used to inspiring and supporting our children that we often forget that even we can’t succeed alone. I have a wide spectrum of supporters right from my husband, who has such faith in my capabilities, to my oldest friend and Momaboard strategic partner who has believed in the company’s potential from day 1! I don’t hesitate to ask for help, whether in my personal or professional life, and am always willing to do the same for someone else.

4. Advice/tips for other moms:

In general I believe that moms can have it all but we can’t do it all. Pick what’s important to you and disregard the rest. My dirty little secret: I can’t cook for beans (pun intended) so someone else does the cooking for my family. And as long as we’re all at the dinner table together enjoying a hot meal, that’s good enough for me.

5. I love Babychakra because…

For parents, the source is as important as the information. That’s the reason behind our trip planning service, and that’s exactly why Babychakra plays such a crucial role in raising children safely and healthily. Moms trust moms, because no matter the distances that separate us, we are all parents first.
