Stop Using Instagram!

Yes, I actually just said that!

You know the sole reason why I have started blogging on BabyChakra is that it is literally helpful. From daily development tips to helping other moms, this is THE platform for almost every mum out there who would like to get and give some help.

Now let’s skip to Instagram!

Instagram is definitely a wonderful social media app. You can share your pictures, post stories and add some cool mini videos. It’s honestly pretty much cool!

So then why do I tell you to stop using it?

You see, with each day, you see more and more mom influencers adding up on Instagram. They post pictures about their cute babies, their kids, their relationships and their adventures.;

And while scrolling this picture-perfect feed, your brain literally tells you that your life is not perfect!

Okay, before any judgemental comments, let me clarify I had been a freaky Instagram user once. I used to click selfies all day and couldn’t wait to post them!;

So, I pretty much know what it’s entirely about!

What I want to convey is the fact using too much Instagram at one point of time does make you question your life.

You see that mom posing her perfectly sculpted body with her baby beside her. And you ask why can’t I be perfect like her?

You see a mom vacationing with her babies and toddlers and look absolutely cool in pictures with no panda eyes or exhaustion. And you ask yourself why don’t I have them?

You see a mom sharing a pic of her house which is absolutely clean and is also quite big enough. And you ask yourself why do you have a messy house?

You see a mother sharing her picture with her baby on her lap which she’s wearing perfect makeup. And you ask yourself how do you still have that exhausted look even after a good night’s sleep?

Every post you see on Instagram or better on any social media, especially relating to moms, makes you question your entire life and your own choices.

Is it really worth it?

Absolutely, no!

Honestly saying, I am not getting paid to criticize Instagram. But, make sure mommies, especially new mums, to check out your Insta feed only when you feel you could get some productive output.;

If not, I would highly recommend staying away from it!

Now you may ask, why don’t I talk about other social media platforms like Facebook or just YouTube. That’s primarily because, yes they do offer similar self-questioning feed, but along with that they also help you stay informed with news and all the other social affairs.;

Please don’t misinterpret me, ladies. The message that I seriously want to convey to other moms, especially new moms, is use Instagram or just any other platform only for productive purposes. More often than not, Instagram had actually deepened my postpartum depression during my new motherhood days. Which I genuinely don’t want any other mom to experience.

Use anything with productivity on your mind!;

Not totally, but yes, agree with some points for sure..depends on our minds!! well, i m not using instagram!!!!

I would say that use social media productively. Learn the art of making money through those platforms like tiktok insta etc.
Be a content Creator and not a content consumer always

Madhavi Cholera trust me , nowadays social media is doing more harm than good!

Agree with Nivetha! Social media would be best used if used for making money. We need to be content creator with genuine helpful purpose.

subhashini I guess we should opt for a social media detox for a week itself. I had once switched off my wi fi for an entire first half of my day and it felt so good.
