The reclining position for breastfeeding is also known as biological nursing as it stimulates the baby’s reflex to feed as well as allows the mother to be in complete comfort while feeding. It’s one of the most comfortable positions, especially for women who suffer from body pain and struggle to a find suitable position to breastfeed their little one.

For this position:

- Choose a comfortable reclining position, either on a reclining chair or your bed.

- Use a few pillows if needed to give additional support to your head and neck.

- Position your baby with his/ her stomach down on your chest and the head placed at the breast level.

- Support the baby’s neck with your hand and make sure the baby has enough space to breathe well.

In this position, the baby might naturally get an instinct to feed but you may also try helping her/him with the same.
