**Anonymous Post ** : Be supportive and helpful

I am a new mother and have not been able to produce any or less milk. It is a source of great worry, stress and depression for me with my family not being very supportive of the post patrum depression topped with me not being able to lactate.

I am kind of loosing myself. What do I do to retain my sanity? also is there anyway in which I can produce milk? and if not, wjat other options do I have which won't compromise on my child's nutrition. right now have been force to give her formula.

Please help me moms!

all new mothers feel that. i have been there too.

keep feeding the baby. the body regulates the production of milk by 15-20 weeks which is by 3 weeks. the more u feed, the milk u will produce. keep feeding the baby every half hr to 1 hr initially.
baby shud be on breast for atleast 10 min per side.

if the baby is peeing min 5 times a day and is gaining abt 30 gms per day he is getting enough milk.

hi neha... this is a common feel...have been through lesson was to stay calm n positive...if you are stressed milk supply will be affected...
take satavari powder with milk morning n night ...2 spoons in 1 gynac n paediatric both recommended n generally all doctors do..since it takes lil time for milk supply to establish...
it's a phase of 2 months or so...don't panic...n yes the more you feed the more milk will be produced...

honestly while I understand it's the best for your baby, it does not sound the death knell on motherhood. my older one was diagnosed with lactose intolerance and has been formula fed almost sice birth. he has turned out fine. it's a body response and nothing you can really control no matter how much you wish to. there are many other ways to connect and nurture your baby. enjoy those:) all the best!
