#Tips to #ReduceToothDecay #Brush your teeth at least twice a day with a fluoride toothpaste.

Preferably, brush after each meal and most importantly before going to bed.

If you eat #sugary food, consume them after a meal as your #saliva defence is at its best, and so will reduce the duration of time that the acid is in contact with your #teeth .

Clean between your teeth daily with dental floss or interdental brushes.

Eat nutritious and balanced meals and limit snacks. Avoid sticky #carbohydrates such as sweets and crisps, which can remain on the tooth surface. If sticky foods are eaten, brush your teeth as soon as you can.

Check with your dentist about use of supplemental fluoride, which strengthens your teeth if you are susceptible to decay.

Check food and drink labels and always choose the sugar free option when possible

Ask your #dentist about dental sealants (applied to the chewing surfaces of your back teeth (molars) to protect them from decay).

Encourage children to drink water as it contains fluoride which is needed to strengthen teeth and help to protect from tooth decay.

Chew sugar free gum after eating sugary food as this boosts saliva flow and helps to clean the teeth.

Visit your dentist regularly for professional cleanings and oral examinations.

Cut down how many times you have sugary foods and drink, its frequency and not quantity that can cause decay. If you have a really sweet tooth, try to eat sugar along with your main meals so that you do not eat them continuously throughout the day. #drswetabajaj
