question
@Dr. Priyanka Patel My child is 6 months and 1 week old. He is teething. He cries while feeding and sometimes while sleeping. I guess is its due to teething. How can I reduce his gum pain? Additionally from the onset of weaning, he is experiencing constipation and I have to use glycerine suppository. Is there someway to prevent constipation?

Shilpa baby got a very small stomach and their digestive system is still developing, 2 or 3 meals is too much, he is not able to digest hence constipation. As I have mentioned breast milk or formula milk will be their main source of nutrition and it should never reduce till 1 year. Solids are just complimentary not the main food till 1 year. Hope you read the pointers which i shared. Both banana and and apple cause constipation.

He was constipated for 5 days, made sounds as if he is trying to put pressure...gave it on direction of doctor only. Could you suggest me an alternative?

Thanks Rebecca. I am giving two-three meals...fruits-banana or apple...introduced daal today. He was on excusive breastfeed but he is remaining hungry after feeds now. Thinking of introducing formula milk.
