A DAY'S TRIP TO MYSORE ZOO
I had been to Mysore so many times but never went to Zoo so this time on our a day's trip Zoo was on my to be covered list.. and I bet you I was happy on my decision. It was much more than. My expectations in all terms - number of animals and birds, maintenance, facilities and management.
Birds at zoo - cockatoo, peacock white & Indian, hornbill, stork, flamingo, owl, ostrich Emu to name a few.
Animals at zoo - panther, cheetah, white tiger, lion, elephants, hippopotamus, rhinoceros, giraffe, deer and family, bear, hyna, fox, apes, baboon, chimpanzee and many more.
Reptiles at Zoo - variety of snakes like white cobra, python, sand snakes, plant look like snake and so many more.. Turtles... Crocodiles...
Now some things to consider when you visit zoo...
👉 Keep whole day for it as it's huge and you will get tired of you cover every corner of it. They have marked places with distance left to exit the zoo so you know how much more to cover.
👉 They have electric vehicle/ buggy to take you around but at extra charges. That's good if you have toddler or senior citizen with you, else explore on feet and burn some calories too..
👉 Start you day early, have proper food before your visit as you can't carry food in the premises and whatever food items you have the security will keep it at the entrance.
👉 Carry empty water bottle or glass to have water as water bottles are also not allowed. But you have drinking water places at every nook and corner of the zoo so you find difficulty in getting water.
👉 There are washroom at multiple places in zoo so don't worry on that as well.
👉 Cafeteria is almost towards the end of zoo where you get everything from cup corn to popcorn to ice creams to tea, coffee to food stuff so if you are too hungry you can have snacks there.
Entry ticket for adults - Rs 50
Entry ticket for kids above 5 yrs - Rs 20
Electric vehicle for adults - Rs 150
Electric vehicle for senior citizen - Rs 75
I would suggest everyone to definitely visit Mysore Zoo once. If you are from Bangalore, plan a weekend trip... If you are visiting from other parts do keep at least half a day for it.. kids will love this place.. If you child is interested take a small book where they can write names of animals, birds they see and they will learn that way.

We loved this place..; My dd had so much fun seeing animaw, birds n reptiles so close.. We have been thr twice n it's always on list to see whenever we go Mysore

Its my favourite place in mysore!!! Yes need a whole day to cover the entire zoo.. the enthusiasm while watching animals is awesome.. even elders become kids 😁
