A good movie needs a good script!
A good script needs a good director!
And when a director lucks himself in getting an actor like Sridevi to play his protagonist a movie like MOM is made!

Life now is harder than it used to be a decade ago!
Everything is now and just now!
Not even a second late!
Rejection is never easy.
And kids these days are going on to another level if you deny them something they want!

MOM reminds me about Drishyam in a few times, but being on a similar text. Both movies do point out one similar point about working parents. Giving their child more than needed and not teaching them value of life.

Yes, working parents may dismiss my comment.
But I myself was a child, where both my parents were working and they were really busy to be around. I don't blame them. However I would still say they were silly mistakes that wouldn't happen or I wouldn't make if they were around me.

A child may be really smart but understanding the right and the wrong is difficult for me at times even at the age of 27. So at the age of 16 or 17 what does one expect?

Debutant Director - Ravi Udyawar did a good job!
He knew what he wanted and the scenes were aesthetically shot. He cut in at right movements and kept a hold on the audience. When you make a movie like this, one can be lenient with the small mistakes.

All in all, one of the best movies of 2017.
Cast - A good cast not only helps your script grow but also takes you on a ride that makes you connect to the story.

Sridevi - She is a delight to watch. She makes sure you feel the shivering she enacts on screen. She is not only a ageless beauty but also proves that acting is not what one learns in the a class. You learn it in with experience and that's when you become a legend. Her expressions and her warmth of a good mother spreads throughout the movie. Even if you aren't a sridevi fan like myself you will still appreciate what she brings in as devki.

Sajal Ali - I have seen her acting in a few Pakistani dramas and I know that girl has a lot of ability. She comes in well prepared and does what she knows best. Her silence is powerful.

Adnan Siddiqui - A man of few words. But does his job with a finesse. He did well for what he was given. Again, I have seen his work before and I really think there is a lot of potential in the Pakistani drama actors that is yet to tap into.

Nawazuddin - I have walked beside him almost all my pregnancy, always nodded our heads to each other kind of friends at the park.
And I still did not recognize him!
It may have taken six months to get him to do this role, but I know for sure. No one other than him would have made it as powerful as he did!

Akshaye khanna - why don't people write him good role like this? He is one of the actors who doesn't need any kind of publicity or any kind of controversy. His name is enough and trust me he is very mature at what he does. Be it in his comics or his firmness his acting is always a praise!
(Yes, conservative actors like him have my heart!)

A special note - the Indian police reaches in time for once and I whistle!

Final verdict - "A stepmother is not a always evil and you have to watch it to believe it!"
