Ajwain or carom seeds is one which has best medicinal value. For lactating mothers it reduces dehydration and increases lactation
All you have to do is dry roast two spoons of ajwain on low flame until you get the pungent aroma of the spice. Let the seeds set aside for 10 minutes and then boil them in 500 ml of water for five minutes. Strain the water after it changes the colour to brown. Drink this throughout the day. This helps in increase of lactation and helps in digestion for both mother and the child. Ajwain is also used for weight loss especially fat around the belly. For that soak two spoons of ajwain in water the previous day, next day boil the water, strain it and drink in empty stomach and no food should be taken for 1 hour.
