Tyres peeking out of a body which has birthed a human, stretch marks which gets too itchy at times, dark circles shouting loud that probably I could do with a little more sleep and my awkward self who still could not figure out in these 30 years, how to pose sane in a picture! I'm generously flawed and can be bitterly honest!
I have fought weight issues since I was a teen and hence, I cannot even begin to tell how much it takes someone to overcome the mental burden of being ridiculed and judged on the waist size of their jeans, the color of their skin or just to accept a body which does not nearly first the society's destructive narrative about the female body.
So today my words go out to everyone who thinks that you should look picture perfect on your insta squares or beautiful is the only quality that sells, who is in a constant fight with their weighing scale, or have been looked down upon for the color of their skin.... "Sexy" is not a size, every calorie is not a war, and your body doesn't have to be a battleground!
You are worth everything whether you are a size 4 or a size 40.
You are worth more than a shade card and there's nothing wrong with your size, your curves, your scars, your flaws, your stretch marks or you!
The reality is that we don't struggle with self-acceptance because we are a certain size, or color or because we look different than those perfectly chiseled bodies on fancy magazine covers,
We struggle because we think that is what would make us happier!
As women in today's world, loving and accepting ourselves the way we are, is the greatest challenge and the biggest revolution we struggle with. And it's time we speak more about being body positive and support each other in the journey from "I'm not good enough" to "I'm different. And different is freaking awesome!"
