play pens are fine. prefessionally doctors dont advise it but they are used by mums and especially they are very useful to carry while going out on a travel so babies sleep environment doesnt change. if baby is only months old, a bassinet can be used and then slowly take it off once the baby is growing. also care has to be taken that only fitted mattress is used. no other pillows and crib sheets need to used.
