I feel these are ways designed by humans as culture grew which allows our bodies to give some digestive rest and detox. It's good to follow a different pattern once in a while and see how our bodies react to it.

well... i am a vegetarian but the only logic i find is during religious festivals and days of mourning non veg is avoided.. and shradh essentially is that.. probably that is y it is a custom to avoid.. also i read somewhere that in indian customs fish is to be avoided during monsoons.. the logic being fishes breed during monsoons hence they need to be left alone during that time for the multiplication of their species and ensuring the abundant supply later.... i am sur3 some kind of logic would definitely be there for not having non veg during shradh
