question
baby is 5.5 months old. she has started crying in the night right after her night feed. she will cry for 2 to 3 hours. doc says may be colic but this is too late to get colic. could this be a developmental milestone? is this the 4 month sleep regression which she has got late? any thoughts will be appreciated.

hi sonali. haven't started solids or any new food. she's on combi feeding. nothing seems to have changed apart from her behaviour. she now sleeps from 3am to 1pm instead of 9pm to 9am. there isn't separation anxiety because our sleeping situation is the same.

Colic or stomach cramps generally happen between birth to four months. However at times the baby may have some discomfort even later. Have you started solids or a new food which could be causing the discomfort ? Burp her well after the feed. It is also possible that she is facing some level of separation anxiety as she perceives that now she has to sleep and you will be placing her in her bed. It is a phase and she will soon outgrow it.
