Hello mommies....let me introduce you to the most loved sweet dish that we Sindhis prepare in winter called Khorak. Its yummy and also healthy. So sharing a recipe for making Khorak. Have any of u non Sindhi mums ever tried/tasted this before?? Ingredients to make Khorak:-
Wheat flour 1/2 cupGhee 1/2 cup + 2 table spoon Water
1/2 cupSugar
3/4 cup Finely chopped dry fruits of your choice
1/4 cup( walnut,cashew,almond,raisin)
Poppy seeds(khas khas) 2 table spoon
Dessicated coconut 2 table spoon
Cardamom 3-4 seeds
Gond(edible gum) 2 table spoon How to make Khorak:-
1. Heat pan add water and sugar and let it boil to make sugar syrup.(1 tar consistency) When done switch off gas and keep it aside.
2. Heat 2 table spoon ghee and saute edible gum till it changes its color to pinkish. Remove and cool a bit and then grind it.
3. Heat remaining ghee in an heavy bottom pan and saute wheat flour on medium flame stirring continuously until golden brown.
4. Add all ingredients except sugar syrup.(dry fruits, poppy seeds, coconut, cardamom seeds) and mix properly on slow gas.
5. Add sugar syrup and turn gas on high flame and stir quickly to absorb all water and till it leave sides of pan.
6. Transfer onto greased plate making a thick layer and let it cool for some time.7. Cut in diagonal pieces and let it cool completely before storing.
8. Store in air tight container for 2-3weeks.
9.
