"Besan Sheera

Ingredients :
1.Gram Flour/ Besan Flour - 1 tbsp
2. Homemade Ghee - 2 tsp
3. Water - 1 cup
4. Date puree can be used for sweetening however do not feed sugar / honey to babies below 12 months
5. Water/Breastmilk/Formula - As required

Preparation :
1. In a pan add besan flour and saute in low flame until nice aroma comes.
2.Add date puree and ½ cup of water.
3.Heat ghee in a pan and add roasted besan flour to it. . Stir to avoid lumps.
4.Cook for 5 minutes until the mixture starts thicken a bit.
5. Mix well, now the mixture start to increase in volume.
6.Stir it continuously while cooking otherwise it may stick to the vessel.
7.When the halwa is slightly thick and raw smell of besan flour is completely gone, add the remaining ½ cup of water.
8. Give a boil for 2-3 minutes until porridge like consistency is reached.
9. Feed with a baby spoon.

Note: Breastfeeding is advised until 12 months and beyond as it is a rich source of nutrients for the baby
