Bored of sweeter version of oats. Give this salty version a try. INGREDIENTS-
Pumpkin(peeled,cored,diced)- 1/2 cup
Potato (peeled and diced )-1
Tomato ;(deseeded)-1
Carrot ;(peeled and diced)-1
Oats
Ginger
Black pepper powder;
Salt;
Turmeric powder;
Mustard seeds (for tempering)
Ghee (Clarified Butter )for cooking.
METHOD
In a pressure cooker add ghee,once hot add mustard seeds and grated ginger. (add ginger in very tiny amount)
When mustard seeds start to splutter add pumpkin cubes followed by potato and carrot while stirring occasionally. Idea is to toast them slightly before pressure cooking.;
Add diced tomatoes, keep stiring. Now is the time to add turmeric powder, mix well and cover the lid for 2 3 minutes.
Once all vegetables are mixed with turmeric now add oats,pepper powder and salt(optional ). Give everything a good mix and at last add water.
Cover the lid and wait for 3 whistles.;
Garnish with coriander and serve.
