Usually considered taboo, adoption shouldn't be seen as a backup option. It is a unique experience with a lifelong impact. It's time we stop judging parents for choosing to adopt because they are not able to have their own kids or because they want to support a child who has been left alone in the world. Just because they adopted a child doesn't make them any less of a parent.
