Can I keep the apple peel on while making apple pureé for my 6month old? Also, is it better to steam the apple rather than pressure cooking it to retain nutrients?

He told their digestive system is very delicate and any worms or pests should not enter their system till 1 year after that their digestive system will develop to handle uncooked food...I also questioned if the nutrients will not be lost by boiling he told babies don't need a lot of nutrients most of it will be met through mothers milk even small quantity in other foods is more than sufficient.

Hey Rajeshwari, it's always better to peel the Apple and give as the fibre content in the peel is more and the digestive system is weak and will not be able to digest it properly.

Hi Rajeshwari, for babies under a year old it is safer to peel the apples as they may get stomach upset due to the peel.
You can steam it or cook it with little water and a small cinnamon stick to make apple sauce. You don't need to pressure cook it as it can be cooked easily in a small steel bowl.
