CARS that hit the theatres in 2006 was one of those movies that was like a refreshment to boys all over the world who otherwise probably had only princess movies to watch till then.
Although this Pixar production drives along a predictable road, the ‘snobbish city guy in a sleepy town’ concept does quite well & isn’t that what animated movies are about anyway? To keep our kids entertained?
The talking cars feel more alive than one can imagine. The movie centralizes around race cars, but not much of adrenaline can be expected from this except for the first & last few minutes of the movie. The huger mid-section of the story concentrates on the small town & its quirky little talking cars who are very friendly, silly and helpful. The scenic spectacles that the computerized animation offers would perhaps push us to get out of the city’s rush & do a little bit of holidaying ourselves.
