Catch that Baby Kick!

Nothing on earth can be a more eagerly awaited moment than the first kick of the little hunny bunny in the tummy... It's also the most confusing one.

So most often you will be wondering...

1) Why am I not still feeling the kick?
Answer - First time moms do not know what a baby kick feels like. We are actually expecting a kick like Messi's goal score, but wait mamma, baby's not there yet!!

2) What will the kick feel like?
Answer - The first kick will not be a "kick" at all. It will often be dismissed as gas. But it may actually be your baby flipping around gracefully in there. First movements are like butterfly flutters or gas bubbles or popcorn popping. In my words it would be like "gulgulgulgul" 😂

3) When am I to expect feeling the movements?
Answer - First timers may feel it around 19 to 24 weeks. Movements can also be missed if baby has flipped to a position such as facing backwards or placenta can cushion the kicks.

4) How and when should I count the kicks
Answer - You will start noticing a pattern in movements. By third trimester, you should make a habit of counting kicks daily. Choose approximately same time everyday, when baby is most active, lay on your left and note how many kicks in an hour or two. Any decrease in activity should be discussed with doctor immediately.

4) What if I didn't feel movements today?
Answer - Baby rests inside the womb too. Or you may have been too engrossed in other things to notice. Lay down or sit with feet up and see. Still if no movements, drink a glass of something cold and sweet(do not make this a habit, only in emergencies) and lay on your left with hand on tummy. It may take a little time sometimes. Baby should start kicking. If not, consult your doctor immediately.

When baby kicks, gently caress your bump and talk to baby. She is awake and listening.... Happy pregnancy dear...
