Cleaning her cycle is one task which Biryani does on a Sunday without fail. Her father and I ensure that she learns not only to value the importance of her belongings but also learn to take care of them.
Biryani cleans the cycle all by herself with a bit of help from her father. He gives her the instructions and helps her with the water, sprayer,etc which helps her in doing her job properly and neatly. It gives her an opportunity to appreciate herself for doing something all by herself and gain self confidence and esteem.
Tips for parents before sending the kids for washing cycles:
1. Make sure the children are wearing comfortable clothes
2. Make sure they carry a water bottle with them. They might get thirsty while cleaning so better be handy.
3. The parents should ensure that the kids wash the cycles under a tree or a shade. This helps them do their job without feeling hot and sweaty.
4. Teach children that such activities can make them dirty and it is completely fine. They can always go take a bath and clean themselves.
5. One parent should always be there to supervise the kid during the cleaning process to ensure the safety of the kids.
6. Make the task look interesting and if there is another cycle owned by the parents then it can be double the fun. The children would readily agree to cleaning their cycles when they see the elders also participating in the same task as theirs.

This is also an opportunity where the father and daughter gets to connect and spend some time with each other. This is their time and I make sure I am not a part of it. It is important for kids to bond with the father, specially when he is traveling most of the time. It gives them an opportunity to know each other a bit more.
Kids also learn to clean things themselves in a fun way. They get to understand that its alright to get dirty sometimes in order to take care of their belongings.

4. Being responsible for something that is their possession
5. It's fine to get dirty at times because it helps you to clean the filth out of your life.
6. A task is important and it needs to be completed.
7. Parents are always there to help you out in every task you undertake in life.
8. Bonding over with parents and understanding their importance.
9. There is nothing demeaning in cleaning their stuff themselves.
10. Building a sense of self respect and self confidence among children from an early age.
As parents we should encourage the kids in undertaking such tasks as these simple steps will help them learn important life lessons from an early age in a playful way.
