Dear mums,

; ; ; ; ;As; I discussed earlier in take over that my c-section was unplanned n it was an emergency.so I thought to write about plaaned n unplanned c -sec ....

Though many women are certain ahead of time that they’ll have a C-section for different reasons, you may plan to have a vaginal birth only to find that your plan has to change.

During labor or delivery, your doctor might determine that you need to have a C-section right away. This can be a sudden change if your health or your baby’s health takes a turn for the worse and it’s too risky for you to have a vaginal birth.

Reasons for an Emergency C-section

If you need an emergency C-section, your doctor has decided that you or your baby are in dire stress and immediate delivery is the only option. Possible reasons for an emergency cesarean include:

1)Fetal or maternal distress

2) Prolapsed umbilical cord;

3)Maternal hemorrhage

4)Placenta abruption;

5)Uterine rupture;

unplanned C-section could include:

1) Labor isn't progressing.

2) Contractions are too weak.

3) Baby isn’t tolerating labor.

4) Baby is sideways or breech when labor begins.

If your caesarean section (c-section) isplanned, your midwife will give you information about what to do on the day, including: date and time to arrive at the hospital. when to stop eating and drinking – this is usually six to eight hours before your c-section.
