#dessertrecipe Bread pudding!! (With egg and eggless) You can't just make it once for kids..they will ask for more..and this is super easy and yummy!!.. specially when one wants something gooey and hot!! Ingredients (for 3-4 servings) 4 slices of bread (any bread with crust and thick slices) 2 tbsp butter 3 tbsp jam Few chopped nuts (cashews & raisins go well) 1 egg 3 cups milk 2 tbsp sugar 1 tsp vanilla essence 1/2 tsp baking powder Method 1. Make butter and jam sandwiches while applying butter on one side and jam on the other slice of bread. Then cut these sandwiches into big square pieces and arrange them in a baking dish or any bake ware. You can also hide in a few finely chopped fruits in these sandwiches like strawberry, kiwi, apples etc 2. Boil 3 cups milk and add sugar to it. When boil comes and sugar dissolves, switch off the gas. 3. Beat one egg in a bowl and add vanilla essence to it. Now pour slowly the boiled milk and sugar mix to this while wisking till the egg and milk combines. 4. Pour this milk and eggs mix on the bread in the baking dish to cover them well. Now add chopped nuts and also you can put few smears of jam on it. Bake this dish for about 15-20 minutes in a preheated oven, while checking in between, till you see a golden crust coming on the dish. In a microwave, either use convection mode for 18-20 minutes or choose the Swiss roll option from the menu.
Eggless Option
If you want to make an eggless dish, which is also very yummy, just make sandwiches and arrange in the baking dish. Heat milk and sugar in the same way.
Now add this to 2 tbsp of custard powder instead of egg and add vanilla essence later. Also add 1 tbsp butter and mix it in this custard mix only. Then pour it on the dish and same baking procedure.
