question
EAT RIGHT – DON’T DIET
Being healthy and losing weight can sound so simple like, ‘Eat less, be more active’. But as anyone who has ever tried to lose a few kilos knows that putting that into actual practice can be real difficult.
When it comes to eating, we have habits that have almost grown with us, and are now difficult to change. Changing old misguided eating patterns are necessary, instead of going for a radical change try replacing them slowly.
Replace all your old, incorrect eating habits with new, improved ones.
Here are some ways to help you replace unhealthy foods and habits with new and better ones:
* Eat slowly and chew properly: Try eating slowly. Put down your fork between bites and chew food slowly. Eat in a relaxed state of mind.
* Go for a low-carbohydrate diet which will help you minimize your intake of sugars and starches, replacing them with foods rich in protein and healthy fats.
* Eat “the Real food” like fresh fruits and salad, homemade smoothies and juices instead of choosing foods which are packaged, processed with added artificial chemicals.
* Avoid all sugar foods with added sugar. They are very addictive as well as fattening. They are one of the leading cause of diseases like obesity, diabetes & cardiovascular disease
* Use different types of Oils like soybean oil, corn oil ,rice bran oil, pure cow ghee, olive oil etc.
* Understand your cravings and eat your meals only when you’re truly hungry instead of eating only for emotional satisfaction.
Avoid eating when you are tired, anxious, hurt or angry. If you find yourself eating when you are experiencing an emotion besides hunger, try replacing it with some other activity.
Simply take a walk or talk things out with a friend, wait till you feel better and truly hungry.
For weight loss plan to be successful it needs to be tailored to an individual’s lifestyle and other personal factors.
Simply breaking down of calories from protein, fat and carbohydrates doesn’t matter for weight loss.
