Kids throw tantrums when they get upset or feel anxious because they don't understand the physical or mental sensation they are going through. We don't always treat kids emotions as real, that's why its important we talk about emotions and make them a part of our daily language. This will help kids better understand what they are feeling and can better manage their emotions.
When kids learn to manage their emotions: *They will be emphatic *Have positive relationships *Have good mental health and wellbeing *Show less tantrums *Will have better coping skills *Be more confident
Few ways you can help your kids develop their emotional skills 1. don't hide your feelings, let them know when you are sad/happy, so they will understand that everyone has feelings. 2. Explain the feelings by using words. For e.g you are feeling sad because you lost your toy. 3. Use children's books to talk about feelings. For e.g red riding hood was so scared to see the wolf. 4. Use feelings chart. 5. Teach kids different ways they can respond to their feelings.
Praise your child when they express their feelings. be a role model and show them how you deal with all the feelings, kids will see and learn.
Very good one....it indeed is very important for children to understand when what and how to express which emotion
