Few moments back, I was having a chat conversation with one of my college friends. I was enquiring about a job. I was interested to do a teaching job. As our conversation went along, he suggested me to just raise my daughter. And that I should only think about working if we have some financial issues! And that just because I have a degree it doesn't mean I should work. Basically my husband doesn't have any problem with me working, but he has! Duh!;
How much I hate such comments. I mean does a woman's opinion even matter?! I personally was thinking of working because of certain issues. But why does a woman working brings up so many judgements. Why is a working woman always labelled as a self-centred woman. In spite of explaining my friend clearly that I need to work now primarily for my daughter's education, he told me not to work and to just raise my daughter. What's more irritating is the fact that these comments coming from an educated person.;

What a male chavounist! Patriarchy is all I can say, parenting is both men m women's job so why can't the men take a break and women grow? Financial issues or no issues women should earn and be independent. Even if she earns 1000 it's well and good.
