Summers can be a hard time for babies and toddlers. It quite common to witness an appetite drop along with crankiness and dehydration. The key is try giving food which are light, nutritious and hydrating.
1) Fruits like melon, grapes, papaya, Oranges and mango can be given as easy snacks. They are hydrating and good for digestion 2) Drinks like lassi, lemon water, coconut water and aam panna should be included in the diet to keep them hydrated. Remember that the drinks should not replace breastmilk or formula feed for babies below 1. 3) Foods like curd rice, lauki, khichdi, Idli/Dosa, porridge, vegetable soup, poha and salads are light, full of nutrition and fibre and so good for digestion. Keep your children comfortable while eating and don’t fuss.
