Ganesh Chaturthi, also known as Vinayaka Chaturthi is a prominent Hindu festival, celebrated across the country with great devotion. The day marks the birth of Lord Ganesha, who is a symbol of wisdom, prosperity and good fortune.

It is a 10 day long festival celebrated during the Hindu month of Bhadra, which generally falls between August and September. People place clay idols of Ganesha in their home and worship them. On the last day of the festival, a colorful and musical procession is taken out and the idols are immersed in water.
