Hello all, needed an advice..many ppl told me to giv sunlight to the bump..its essential..and wil help in. getting vit d...but on the other hand my mil doesn't allow me to do d same...can anyone advice whats correct??

D3 is important but it will not go thru your skin uterus and amniotic fluid to the baby. It needs to be absorbed by your skin and then get to the baby thru your blood.<br> 15 minutes exposure to morning sunlight is enough. Remember it has to be skin exposure so you will need to wear minimum clothing.<br> Wearing a sunscreen will prevent sun burn but also will block the D3 so then being in the sun is useless.<br> turmeric does not cause jaundice in babies. That is pure myth and old wives tales. Yes exposing the babys skin to morning sunlight helps to reduce the bilirubin levels which cause the baby's skin to appear yellow.
