Hello baby Chakra and all my friends, I had been away from babychakra for quite some time due to lack of time for some commitments. My baby completed 1year. Within this 1 year I learned a lot as a mother as everyone does but recently I had an fearful experience with my daughter which I would like to share with you. It was about a day after her vaccination ( just after her 1st birthday)

She was running a high fever, which I thought is normal may be due to the vaccine given previous day, but something was worrying me, I don't know what, she was all playful and active during all the day, but from evening she became drowsy refused to eat anything, which I thought normal due to fever, I informed my hubby about her health who was out for work ( thankfully not out of station ). My husband adviced me to give her,T98 drops which we usually give in fever which was actually adviced by our Doctor. So I gave the drops according to doctors advice but it didn't help, she was not feeling better. She was sleeping didn't wake up, didn't open her eyes, only she was on breastfeeding which somewhat relieved me. But at around 9pm night I suddenly noticed that her cheeks turned red and within minutes she started shaking , couldn't breath her eyes went white. My hubby was not home yet, he was on his way. I started to panic. Didn't knew what to do. My mother was with me but she also started panicking. My mother called up my hubby informed about the situation, he told he would need 10 mints more to reach home. In the meantime not knowing what to do, I started giving my baby mouth to mouth breathing, afterwhich I felt she stopped shaking and could breath, still not normal. Then my husband came he took her and we headed directly to the nearest hospital. There the nurses wiped her hand and feet and head with a wet cotton cloth to bring down the temperature which was 102degrees ,then checked her pulse , which was normal, than again they gave her T98 drops but this time they increased the dose. After 10mints my baby became normal, breathing properly, looking all around. The Doctor on duty, who was not her pediatrician, allowed us to go home with the baby. We came home and she was normal. But little tired.

Next day we took her to her pediatrician for check up and from him we came to know that it's a condition called 'febrile convulsion ' where the patient due to high fever may faint or have seizures for 5 to 15 mints and then becomes normal, doctor advised a tablet to be given in the first 3 days of fever, if the fever crosses 100degrees. And according to the doctor this condition disappears on its own, after 7 years of age of the kid. And also announced that the fever was viral fever and not because of the vaccination, (which I thought).now my baby is doing good, fit and has no other problems.
