Hello beautiful Souls, Hope you all had great Diwali celebration. As promised I couldn't post regularly due to many reasons, Was at inlaws place, pre Diwali snacks preparation, sickness, my daughter broke my phone etc etc, forgive me please !! It's never too late, today I am going to share few tips that I learnt through my 1St trimester.
Many sensitive women may quickly realise that they are pregnant, my case was different ! I have PCOD and usually my periods are irregular, there were times when I had my menses once in 6month, so missing period was not an alarming sign for me related to pregnancy. I will share details of this story in another post.; . When I got positive result, my baby was already 8weeks old 🤦. And I thought oh god what all wrong things I have been doing in last month ! All kind of junk food, crazy excessive household chores, cleaning, I was not even aware what food I should have avoided. I have read and always knew that one should try to follow healthy routine atleast a year before your planned pregnancy. Ours was unplanned,; I was already late by a month, but I tried and took few steps to overcome this guilt and storm of many worrisome thoughts about my baby . Every Pregnancy is different but still sharing few things i learnt from my 1st Trimester that will help new preggies. Women are already strong and motherhood comes with more strength. Even if you are not aware of ABC's of pregnancy believe me that you will learn everything and eventually things will fall in place; C'mon #LearnOnMaa !
1. Routine and discipline: Apart from all below things, please set and follow a well balanced, good healthy routine and follow that religiously. Once in a while taking break from routine is also okay, but be on track again. . 2. Diet : The most important thing starting from 1st month and even before that if you have planned pregnancy. Keep your diet right and healthy. Stop eating junk food, if you still have cravings choose right and hygenic options. Check with your Gynec for Diet if you want to follow, I was struggling with weight gain untill my 6th month and fortunately I got perfect diet from Dietician for free. I will share the diet and healthy food options in my upcoming post.; . 3. Exercise : You are lucky if you have been exercising and fit even before pregnancy. Because if you have not exercised at all before like me due to our busy and lazy life, there is very little you can try and do in pregnancy. Instead of energising starting exercise suddenly during pregnancy may result in severe backaches and tiredness and may even harm baby who is just in embryo phase. Practising yoga is safe, but please follow specific prenatal asanas only. If you are newbie to exercising like me, please take professional help if your budget allows, check wd friends, read and you may watch prenatal yoga on YouTube and follow alone only if you are confident. One of my family member helped me to choose right set of prenatal easy and safe asanas, i did only those which i was comfortable with. Always follow your intuitions while doing any exercise. I followed many asanas from Lara Dutta's prenatal yoga series. Please do watch. . 4. Activity : There is difference between exercising and activity. If you feel you exercising right, but spend hours infront of laptop,tv, with mobile etc. Then you are not doing any activity. Keep moving, walk when you talk, dont sit at one place for Long time. If you are in office, stand up, take a walk after every half an hour. Whenever you are visiting washroom, do few stretches there. I realised importance of activity very late, now in my early 30's, when I am already suffering from ill effects (PCOD,piles, tummy tires, acidity)of sitting at one place. Apart from exercise, take brisk walks compulsorily. 1St trimester 15min walk,; 2ND trimester30min,; 3Rd trimester 40min walk.; 5. Lifestyle : This particularly means the kind of routine you are following ( not the brand conscious or classy life). please set right wake up and sleep time. Generally waking atleast 2hrs after sunrise and sleeping atleast 2hrs before midnight is advised.I understand if you are working woman things doesn't come that easily, but if you set a discipline, you can ! If possible avoid tea coffee as first thing in morning, take healthy alternatives, avoid/tackle stress with 10min of meditation as the 1st and last thing of your day.;
These were the most important things that I feel a Pregnant woman shall consider to follow throughout. I had left my job before pregnancy and was searching new opportunity but Indian companies rarely employ already pregnant employee. Since I was at home I could rest well, eat well, was able to read a lot. And when I was too bored to follow routine, I used to take break.
