Hello mommies.. Need urgent help.. While playing my baby got hurt on his lips, it got cut, now lips are swollen.. he is not able to latch.. he sleeps only by taking feed.. he is crying bcoz he wants to sleep and not able to latch.. what I can apply so that it get cure soon..
Hey I agree with Syeda .you can apply sugar on the lips ..gradually it will heal ..can apply ice to reduce the swelling ...the baby will start feeding soon don't worry and take care .

Dear u can try the above metioned tips. Also if still an issue...express ur milk and either give ur baby a feeder bottle or milk with a spoon. One babys lips r healed...he will latch again so dont worry

I remember as a child i fell down n hurt my lips. Blood also came out. My mother immediately applied sugar on my lips. Please try it if you feel your baby is still hurt

Applying a little ice can make the area numb and reduce the swelling. This may help baby to latch. You can also ask the doctor for some pain relief analgesic gel which can be used orally. This can also help baby to feel comfortable and latch. However these may not be enough to help him feed fully so offer expressed breast milk thru the day for nutrition.
