Hi Ritika, its great that you have been successfully Breastfeeding your baby since 3 months. Sometimes baby's who have been nursing well previously suddenly stop nursing for a day or two, maybe longer. It's your babys way to communicate with you that something is not right: - baby is unable to latch properly - your babys neck is hurting, try changing positions - your baby has a cold - he has an infection in his mouth called Thrush or an ear infection - Your baby is teething - there is a big change in your routine (like going back to work) - if you are giving some top feed, your milk supply will reduce - some foods you eat may flavour your milk and may be offending to your baby. - If your periods are starting , that could cause some changes in your milk and may cause pain in your breasts. But it will pass. The area around your nipples are sensitive, pressing can cause pain. The key to Breastfeeding is to eat a well balanced and a nutritious diet and most importantly stay calm. Breastfeeding needs a lot of patience. Do consult your gynaecologist if pain continues in your breast.
