My gyanac has advised me to do gestational diabetes, cbc, urine, TSH test. Below are my questions pls clarify as she is out of station and I need to do the test.
1. I hv thyroid so should I consume my tablet and do the test as I ll consume the glucose powder too.
2.the receptionist told me to consume the powder and after 2 hrs thy ll draw my blood, so in between ll I be able to eat anything? Or before consuming the powder I can eat?
3.cbc, urine n TSH I hv always done fasting so this time why after consuming the glucose powder.?
4.in which week ths gestational test has to be done.
Pls clarify I need to do the same by next week.

yeah this is perfect time....<br>
well I'm hypothyroid person, &I'm under the supervision of thyroid specialist doc...as she told me,whenever I have to go for TSH, first I have to take my dose & than after 30mins can go for blood test<br>
than regarding glucose test, don't consume before & after the powder intake...can have after giving the blood sample..!!always give the sample exactly 2hrs...!!<br>
regarding urine test, always give the first morning urine sample(buy the container one night before) to the compounder...if u r giving others blood test too..!!

is it not better to do a hba1c test for diabetes than fasting n post????

1. You should not take the tablet on the day of test, and not cosume food.. can have water.. this test should be done in fasting..<br>
2. no you should not eat anything before consuming powder.. it is fasting blood sugar<br>
3. TSH and Fasting blood sugar done in fasting... other you can have after having food/ powder..<br>
4. this is the right time.. you should get it done..
