People use to fear during Eclipse as it's not a daily phenomenon to see. All these traditions, which we are following are from ages. Many things are there to follow and many more not to bother as well. India is a farming based country. The main occupation is farming and people entertainment is visiting nearby temple.. Their Purohit was the only educated person then. No malls, movies, clubs, parks, nothing in those days. A person for recreation may go to temple, hill-Top or nearby river ( any water sources) . Sadhaks use to come out these time for their penance/ special sadhana.  We Indians are peace lovers( by heart) . our ancestors don't want to disturb these sadhaks...so they said...to be at home. not to step out. In one way...it's a good family time at home. Lateron , there are some sects of ppl who will kidnap pregnant lady for sacrifice they use to say.... ( all rubbish). How can you please God by sacrifice. I don't believe in it. Just to safeguard...they use to say that. You are nowhere in stone age... nor those sadhaks now. So enjoy ur day. Afterall it's your day...and u should be happy. then your baby will be happy.

It's just a natural phenomena... Still you are doubting... Tie a Black thread around your left leg. Next day remove and either you can throw or burn.
