I am 5 weeks pregnant and intermittently facing very little spotting.
Feeling bit exhausted but otherwise no other vomiting or nausea symptoms.
Yet my Doctor has advised me to take complete bed rest.
Is it really needed. Please sister's guide me because I am working as a software engineer and cannot take leave from such a beginning stage although I have plans for Maternity leave.

if ur doc has advised u complete rest im sure she has some valid reason to do so.
its better u discuss whys n hows with her. do not neglect ur health right now. first trimester is a crucial part of a pregnancy.

the rest has to be taken at the discretion of your gynaecologist as she is the one who has examined you. since you are in software you could consider work from home
beta hcg doubling and a scan can give you an idea of the prognosis

I face spotting in earlier weeks with no cramping. In my case it was due to car jerks while travelling.
Even sometime as the mensuration stops, the blood (bit darkish brown in colour) comes as with light mucous, it's actually old blood.
But as anxious as like any first time moms I went to my Gynae and had a checkup to feel at ease.
Hello...
spotting in initial days should be treated carefully as it may lead to other consequences... so, please have bed rest atleast for 15-20 days and then do a scan.. and now your working hours should be actually decided by your doctor.. so be careful..
