Heavy bleeding is expected in the first or second period post delivery because the old inner lining of the uterus that has thickened over months of no periods starts slowly shedding. If you say that the bleeding is increasing, wait for 48 hours after doing what is written here. If it does not reduce or stop ask your gynaecologist for medicines. So here are the steps you may find useful:
1. Go for a walk. Exercise is known to reduce pelvic congestion.
2. Ensure that you are taking your vitamin and mineral supplements regularly. A dip in iron, magnesium, B12 levels can cause heavy bleeds.
3. Include lemon in your diet. So lemon juice, lemons just sucked as is increase Vitamin C in the body and help in reducing bleeding.
