Hi doctor. i will be 35 weeks pregnant tomorrow. Having symptoms of heat stroke since Tuesday (nausea, dizziness, extreme weakness, headache). Though i am taking rest and having lots of fluids, are there any other precautions/measures that i need to take? i hope this won't harm the baby.

Hello...
firstly stay sufficiently hydrated.
atleast 12-13 glasses water per day.. The extra water will help restore electrolytes lost from sweating. Water has a whole host of benefits during pregnancy, including preventing overheating, headaches, fatigue and swelling.. not to overexert yourself in the heat- never exercise or go out during mid day... always opt these works during cool hours.. When temperatures are high, it’s best to avoid spending time outdoors during the hours of 10AM and 2PM when the sun is strongest. Overexertion in high temperatures can lead to heat exhaustion and even heat stroke in pregnant women which can be dangerous for both mom and baby... take frequent cool showers which relieves these symptoms..
loose fitting cotton is your best choice when you’re pregnant in the summer heat.. Take a good nap which helps to overcome heat stroke...
