question
Hi.. I am mother of 2 kids, 5 yrs and 1.5 months old. After all attempts I am unable to feed my child due to less milk supply which is around 5-10 ml per sitting.. Using breast pump has also not helped increase the flow . As per my lactation counsellor, being positive is very crucial for breast feeding. Is this also a form of depression. I want to over come this and feed my child

I think you must meet a lactation expert...

Yes I agree that the milk secretion is totally a brain process, it needs to be stressfree to feed tour baby better. Relax start doing breathing exercises, do you have anyone to help you out, take plenty of fluids, eat well balanced diet, include foods like ajwain, cumin seeds, fennel seeds, garlic, turmeric, pepper, fenugreek, bottle guard, drumstick, Oatmeal, carrots, barley etc to improve your milk quantity. Positive thoughts and peace around you is very important. Check with your doctor for Any hormonal issue. Has your bleeding stopped. Please have parboiled broken rice cooked in milk to improve supply too.

Ankita first many congratulations 🎊, I'm sure it's overwhelming to have a baby now, especially you must have forgotten what it use to be like. I believe in " Milk comes from the brain and not from the breast". What is troubling you? Do you have enough help? If your baby is latching well then half of your problem is solved, now the concern is only milk supply. Include Jeera, saunf, ajwain, garlic, daliya, oats, nuts, dry fruits, eggs, chicken etc in your diet. Cook daliya with water and cardamon in plain water and when it turns to porridge consistency then add milk, have this every morning. I have tried this personally and I have benefited. If you are a non vegetarian then have mutton bones soup thrice a week, stay positive. I'm tagging few of our 2nd time mommies @63713f982338f60015eaa17b @5f6e0b33c0de03004572c596
