Same here . I had gestational diabetes too in my pregnancy. But after delivery there is no trace of it. Keep testing your sugar atleast once a year. Eat healthy and exercise!! Do not stress!!! All the best

Hi, as advised by Babychakra expert Nikhil Chaudhary, Nutritionist.
Gestational diabetes is seen in a great number of pregnant ladies these days. But it was not the same before. The reasons are many and a wholistic approach needs to be taken into account.
The most important of all is that you will need to undergo a detox diet followed by a series of dietary changes for your body to adapt to the standard healthy diet for for you. During the detox and follow up diet the most important aspect is to change the type of bacteria present in the gut. We need to repopulate your gut with healthy types of bacteria as they define the health of an individual and play a very important role in keeping gestational diabetes at bay.
Also the food you eat now should be such that you do not get any complications during your next pregnancy. This also effects the health of the baby.
Some tips are:
Increase the intake of fermented vegetables and include probiotics in your diet.
Completely stop the use of sugar, white rice and maida in all forms.
Increase the intake of vegetables and sprouts and foods very high in fibre content.
Diet can be customised only after having an in-depth analysis of your reports and condition.
Cheers
Nikhil

Gestational diabetes completely disappears post birth. The high level of amniotic fluid was also caused due to GD. In some situations it does make the woman more prone to developing diabetes later in life. Stay fit and active, maintain an ideal body weight and eat healthy. There is no reason to worry about a remote possibility but being healthy is always a great idea.
