Hi nimisha . . The first 6 months are essential but you can wean off completely by the end of first year . . After then you can switch to dairy milk .; You can gradually start reducing . .; Baby may get fussy but will get used to; it . . Some leave on their own but not all babies . . Mom does lose weight due to bf but not nutirtuio.

1. Although it is compulsory to breastfeed till baby is 6 months, it is best yo feed till baby is 2 years old. The longer you bf, the greater the benefits reaped by baby and mom. 2. Breastfeeding is decided by the comfort of both baby and mom. As baby starts eating more and more solids, baby will drop feeds. You can gradually drop a feed at a time. Try distracting with games and other foods. 3. Yes, kids do wean themselves off completely on their own. Each has his own time. Some do earlier, some do it later. But there definitely comes a day when they no longer need it. 4. From personal experience, moms do lose weight. But it cannot be alone used for weightloss. You do have to eat well to ensure your calcium levels are not compromised. Just practise normal, yet healthy eating...
