Priti dear,baby us so small,at this age they have very high need of sucking which inturn is good for mother because it establishes the milk supply. If at this time you introduce formula,chances are your breasts might not be enough stimulated. Even if you want to give formula,try and pump at that time. See if the latching is proper or not. You can give formula not more than 700 ml a day. But thats too much and this small baby wont need 700 ml,just give about 30 ml each feed after u have breast fed for 15 mins each side and the baby is not satisfied. Do burp after each feed,sometimes babies keep milk in mouth and as it has not yet reached their stomach,they cry out of hunger and demand more. I give my baby formula milk twice a day...one in morning and one before sleeping....rest of the time I do breastfeeding....rest better you consult your doctor about formula <u>milk</u>
