Hi moms, what is the difference between a playgroup and preschool? What is the ideal age that one should enter their child in it? Also, how do I check the best ones in my area?

Also.read this.
Have been reading about the confusion everyone has regarding admission
Please note: Most schools are not following this at the moment but if the government becomes strict you will be asked to repeat a year. School will benefit as you have to pay fees again. No doubt your child will benefit too with having a stronger base/foundation for the second time.
Your child has to complete 6 years on July 31st to be eligible for Std 1 for that academic year. This will be effective 2018.
As per new rules admissions are as follows for academic year 2016-17:
Born before 31st July 2014 - Playgroup
Born before 31st July 2013 - Nursery
Born before 31st July 2012 - Jr Kg
Born before 31st July 2011 - Sr Kg
Born before 31st July 2010 - Std 1
If you feel your child is still small you can enroll next year. On a brighter side they will always be able to grasp better.

Thanks Sweta. Pls explain what does that imply? That my child has to be min 1.11 years as of June. So if my child is of Sept 2015, I have to put him in playgroup in June 2017?
