Hi.. my baby is in his 6th month.. I have started with rice water and dal water for him.. he drinks a little and then he doesn't want it.. if I give milk he'll readily have it but he doesn't like to drink rice and dal water .. what should I do to make him like it..

yes.. I mash the rice and dal together completely and then strain the water.. my mil uses toor dal .. his head is still not firm and he still has the tongue thrust hence we do not give mashed rice...

It is advisable that you do not give watered down foods to the baby as weaning foods. These do not have the right amount of Nutrition or calories in them. Remember they are a substitute for breast milk and hence need to have positive values. Give soft mashed rice instead and you could slowly introduce moong dal along with the rice. Allow the baby to develop tastes and do not force feed.
