hello pooja. .. you have a very good option of expressing milk. just express the milk n keep it in the freezer for future use. as d baby grows need will increase and your body will automatically adjust the milk supply.
meanwhile you can take some painkillers.
during the 1st month I too had pain in my ri8 breast. it goes away with time.

hi Pooja. trust me I had the same problem. my doctor advised me differently. he told me to breastfeed more frequently and if the baby isn't feeding completely I used to express milk. usually when the ducts gets clogged when u start expressing the ducts doesn't open immediately. I had a manual pump. so what I used to first keep a hot towel on the breast for few minutes and then express. it helped in unclogging and I kept expressing for few more minutes. and then after some time the duct used to get unclogged and milk secretion happen. the most important thing even if u have slight pain after emptying ur breast don't worry. the pain will go away after few days. don't stop breastfeeding.

usually doctor doesn't allow to feed with bottle but practically there's no harm we should avoid if possible else you can continue with bottle but try reduce it gradually.

mastalgia means breast pain which can be like a sharp shooting pain and makes the breast sensitive to touch. It can happen in breast feeding mothers especially if the breast is not being emptied completely. However it can be taken care of by expressing frequently. This is assuming that the baby is not latching well. I would also recommend ensuring that the baby's latch is correct so that adequate milk transfer happens and the need to express is not there. wear a sports bra to support the breast, apply hot or cold compress depending on what gives you relief, eat a low fat diet and a diet rich in complex carbs. Ensure that it does not develop into mastitis which can mean an infection as then we would surely need to consider stopping Lactation if mastitis occurs frequently
