Hi my wife 32 week scan and have been told the baby has a right kidney shows renal pelvic dilation. 7 mm and will need a renal scan after the birth. Most of times it clear normally pls tell me what is the problem

Do not worry this is mild renal pelviectasis or renal dietitian it will not harm your baby but the baby will be monitored till one month after delivery and if required renal function scan or sister urethrogram will be required only when the PD increases from this level the test is just to identify if baby is urine output and kidney function is doing well do not worry
