hi tanvi! what an interesting question! i started reading to my daughter when she was 15 days old :) so pls start reading with baby wherever baby is sitting - get large colourful board and cutout books that are available for babies. the shapes will attract baby. you even get squeaky ones that baby can read in the bathtub! check out pepper series which are for 2+ , or just go to a bookstore where you will see a stack of books that show colours, shapes, numbers. you also get rhyme books with CDs.
