it's a myth Ruchi. you need to consume a lot of water for a good recovery and also to meet the nursing requirements. have a glass of water before feeding . and always keep a bottle near you . it is preferable to have warm water as it helps in healing . as far as diet is concerned , soft diet is recommended in initial 40 days that means everything should be well cooked and avoid gassy and heavy foods . take rest as much as possible do not sit for long hours if not required . give your body some time to recover.

hey Ruchi I too had C-section..,u need to have lots of water, preferably Luke warm( helps internal healing faster and keeps cold at Bay..coz if u catch cold it might hurt sneezing or coughing)..also coz u had undergone a surgery n internally it's takes time to heal, please avoid anything which may coz constipation ( for ex. chana dal, chhole ,etc).. have some kalaunji, garlic and onion roasted in ghee(like we do while tempering dal) in ur meals..garlic is really good..to avoid gas have jeera, saunf, ajwain and some black salt..all this also somewhat help in increasing breast milk..If u have been prescribed iron and calcium tabs please don't take them together(one in afternoon and one in night wud do).. n don't forget to use a belt..
sitting as such won't affect, but it's better to if u lie down (for at least first three weeks)

You must drink lots of water as fluids are good for breast feeding mothers. There's nothing like it will increase your stomach.
And eat healthy diet. Include fruits, vegetables, milk products and everything made at home.
