Traditionally, I grew up without use of medication and always knew my grandfather and mom would come with some home remedies for anything , you name it and they have a remedy. Both are from Andhra region, I have learnt these remedies from them and have found them to be super helpful. Can you believe I have never used Vicks on my baby every.;
*Coconut oil and camphor mixture.
To about one cup of coconut oil add one piece of camphor. Shake well and you will see the camphor melts...preserve in a bottle and keep it ready... When ever your baby catched cold use it on the back, chest, underarms, groin and feet..; Helps relieve cold effectively and also eases breathing. I always have this mixture ready and use it for any of us at home...I learnt this from my grandfather who practiced home medication post his retirement from army.;
Using Hing and or Haldi (tumeric) .;
If your baby has been suffering from cold and running nose try this. Make a paste of hing or tumeric using few drops of coconut oil and apply on the frontonel. Twice in a day once after wash up in the morning and again before bedtime. Helps ease cold and running nose.; Learnt from my grandfather and my mom.;
Use of Castor Oil and beetle leaf for colic in baby's.; Take some pure castor oil and apply it on your baby's tummy around the navel anti clockwise. Slightly warm the beetle leaf on a pan and place it on your baby's tummy. How to check if the heat is bearable for ur baby, just place it on reverse side of your palm and if you can feel slightly warm, it's good enough.;;
Beetle leaf and honey for cough in toddlers and adults.; Just apply some honey to a washed beetle leaf and consume it several times in a day. You will eventually realise your cough is soothed down.;

This is so informative. We practice this on and off but trying to become more home remedial since kiddo just likes things that doesn’t give that nasty odour!
