First of all... No ma'am, only Akanksha 😊
And I totally understand. When my daughter was born, my mother in law had come over. She wanted to do the malish herself, because obviously I didn't know how to do it then. She too used to say things like, see shez crying, let me do the malish, her body must be paining, she'll relax n sleep after the massage. Obviously u can't say much when mother in law is involved. N she told me that newborn baby should be massaged 4-5 times in a day. My daughter refused to get malish done from anyone. She started crying if someone touched her except me. What you can do is, tell her gently and lovingly ki mummyji, I too want to learn, please teach me how to do massage. Obviously when you will go back how would you be able to do things like massage or baby bath if you don't learn it now?
If she agrees then fine, otherwise just breath and let it be. They are elder than us both by age and experience. We can't say much. Till the time your baby is comfortable, it's fine, let her do what she wants.

Once or twice in a day should be fine. But you should do it very gently... I personally felt it was the best bonding time for me n my baby. Don't give the baby to be massaged to those people who do it very rigorously and totally scare the baby. Also, throwing the baby up in the air and then catching is a big no. Just few gentle strokes should be fine, make eye contact with the baby while massaging, talk to him, smile at him. Avoid massaging at least half an hour after feeding.
